FDCAC WORKSHOPS

Four decades of experience have shown us that the most effective way of teaching, inspiring, and motivating writing students is to surround them with other writers.

At the Frederick Douglass Creative Arts Center, students share their work with their peers and their instructor and have it critiqued in a positive, friendly environment. In turn, they read, listen and respond to others' work. Such interchange and interaction among students, especially when moderated and directed by a workshop instructor who is both a professional in his field and an experienced teacher, helps each student to grow as a writer and achieve at a high level.

All workshops are limited to 12 students and they meet for two hours once a week for 8-weeks. All workshops are $200. Photography students will incur additional lab fees of $20 per photo lab visit, two visits per cycle.  ..
.

Workshops are offered 4 times a year: summer, fall, winter and spring. Not all workshops are offered every cycle. As of the Spring 2005 Cycle we will be offering workshops in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Workshop cycles begin October, January, April and July.
